Epileptic Seizure
Symptoms:

First aid:

During the seizure:
- Follow the person’s seizure management plan if there is one in place
- Carefully lay the person on the ground
- Remove any harmful objects
- Turn the person on the side when practical
- Place something soft under their head
- Stay with the person and time the seizure
- Call for help 112/166
Once the seizure has stopped:
- Check the person’s responsiveness and breathing
- If the person is unresponsive and not breathing normally > CPR
- If the person is unconscious but is breathing normally > Recovery Position
- Frequently reassess their breathing
- Reassure the person who may be dazed, confused or drowsy
