Anaphylaxis/Allergic shock
Symptoms:
- Facial swelling
- Sensation of throat closing & difficulty breathing
- Rash
- Vomiting or Diarrhea
- Low Blood Pressure
- Pallor
- Dizziness
- Changes in level of consciousness
First aid:
- If a person experiences anaphylaxis and an epinephrine autoinjector is available, the person should self-administer the autoinjector
- Assist a person to use their autoinjector if assistance is required
- Call the emergency number immediately 112/166
- Ensure that the person remains in a seated or lying position
- If a person with anaphylaxis does not respond to the initial dose of epinephrine and arrival of EMS will exceed 5 to 10 minutes, a repeat dose may be considered
